As many will know, the Carpenters holds a special place in the hearts of countless fans throughout the world.
What many might not know is that there are huge numbers of Carpenters fans here in Japan.
Any karaoke goer will tell you that the collection of foreign songs in practically any bar is replete with the BIG THREE. Namely, The Beatles, The Carpenters and of course, Elvis Presely.
Oken's massive album and singles collection is indicative of this fandom here in Japan and in typical Japanese Otaku style he has devoted over two decades of his life to amassing a definitive collection which boasts ofver 400 unique albums alone from the US and the rest of the world and is surely considered one of the top collections of its type in Japan.
Moreover, he has collected some of the best documentary and live footage of the band and compiled them into 5~15 minute segments for guests to watch in the mini theatre. Shown throughout the exhibition.

Oken will also be exhibiting his collection of illustration work, Carpenters and otherwise which has found favour in magazines, books and newspapers in Japan.
More than just the collection of LPs and singles, Oken himself will be here and available to chat with the guests (in Japanese only, I'm afraid) and answer any questions.
So feel free to come along on Saturday 25th between 1pm and 7pm and any time on Sunday 26th between 10am and 7pm.
If you stop by at 2pm on Sunday, you'll be treated to a live mini concert performance (about 30 minutes) of The Carpenter's most famous numbers.
This is of course, free of charge.
Sit down, chat with fellow fans or just chill out and listen to some classical pop in the airconditioned lounge.
Refreshments will be served, but feel free to bring your own favourites!
